DOMINIC West celebrated the end of “The Wire” a bit early the other day at an invitation-only party packed with strippers. West, who played officer Jimmy McNulty on the hit series, attended the bash at Nation on West 45th Street thrown by New York Super Strippers, a source reports. “He cuddled with the troupe’s raven-haired Russian owner, Belladonna, and her hottest erotic performer,” said our spy. “While Belladonna nibbled at his ear, her special assistant gave him a special lap dance.” West had a daughter, Dora, 18 months ago, with his ex, Catherine Fitzgerald. His rep did not return a call.

Catherine Zeta-Jones works some serious belly-dancing magic in this photo, the first from her forthcoming Houdini biopic costarring Guy Pearce.
As a con artist/seductress in Death Defying Acts, Mrs. Michael Douglas works her hardest to elude the world’s most famous magician with her psychic abilities.
It doesn’t take a clairvoyant to tell us, however, that Cat’s hubby Michael is one happy man.

For a moment there it appears as though Catherine Zeta-Jones has revived the role of “I dream of Jeannie“. But actually she has cast her magic over a new film based on the famous escape artist Harry Houdini.
Catherine Zeta-Jones dons the bejewelled, belly-baring outfit for a scene as a psychic who has an affair with Harry Houdini played by Guy Pearce, in the upcoming 1920s biopic Death Defying Acts. Zeta-Jones, who has two children Dylan, 7, and Carys, 4, with husband Michael Douglas, did lot’s of exercising and avoiding her weakness - bread to get ready for her role … “I love bread,” but now, “I’m just working out and not chomping down what I usually chomp down.”

As the Golden Globes became the first awards-show casualty in the Hollywood writers strike, the Critics’ Choice Awards fared better Monday – and with no picket lines in sight, that meant an all-star showing, from Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie to George Clooney and Katie Holmes.
The 13th annual awards, handed out by the Broadcast Film Critics Association, are not covered by Writers Guild contracts, so unlike the Globes (and other upcoming awards shows), the Critics’ Choice Awards were not impacted by the writers’ strike.
So the A-listers showed up to party and celebrate the night’s winners. No Country for Old Men was named best picture, with its oddly coiffed bad guy, Javier Bardem, winning best supporting actor.
Other big winners: Daniel Day-Lewis earned best actor (and a standing ovation) for his performance in There Will Be Blood, Julie Christie was named best actress for Away from Her, Amy Ryan was named best supporting actress for Gone Baby Gone (Ben Affleck’s directorial debut), and teen-pregnancy comedy Juno was named best comedy.

Inside the auditorium, it was a laid-back party scene: A goateed Pitt got cozy with Jolie (who was nominated for A Mighty Heart), while Sean Penn, Eddie Vedder and Catherine Keener all mingled at the Into the Wild table (Penn’s film led with seven nominations).
The writers’ strike was still definitely on the minds of everyone, with winners and presenters sending their support while urging both sides to return to the table.
“When the strike happens, it’s not just writers [affected],” Clooney said onstage. “Our hope is that all the players will lock themselves in a room and not come out until they finish. We want this to be done. That’s the most important thing.”
Comedian Eddie Izzard provided his own chilling example of awards-show writing during the strike.
“Okey dokey from WGA came during teatime, so some speechy talk not so good as other mans,” he said. “This was wrote in toilet, so only first draft and a bit la-la.”
Clooney also delivered the inaugural Joel Siegel Award (named after the late ABC movie critic) to Ocean’s Thirteen costar Don Cheadle for his humanitarian work.
Here’s a rundown of the night’s winners:

Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild award nominations differ quite a bitÂ
Â
“Into the Wild,” Sean Penn’s harrowing drama about Christopher McCandless, a young man who traveled the country after graduating from college only to perish in Alaska, lead the 14th annual Screen Actors Guild Award nominations announced this morning.
The film was nominated for four SAG awards — best actor, Emile Hirsch; supporting male actor, Hal Holbrook; supporting female actor, Catherine Keener; and best ensemble.
The gripping legal thriller “Michael Clayton” and the dark contemporary western “No Country for Old Men” each received three nominations.
Apparently the criteria between the Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild award organizations are very different. The former Jag beauty is proof that not all plastic surgery makes you look younger, or prettier…
Once a gorgeous celeb, Catherine Bell now looks like some D-grade actress with a really, really bad nose. In fact, it looks like she’s in desperate need of a nose job! How sad that this nose is already the result of such surgery…
If I was Catherine, I’d sue the surgeon.

Georgia Rule- (R) Rebellious teenager Rachel screams, swears, drinks and is, in a word, uncontrollable. With her latest car crash, Rachel has broken the final rule in mom Lilly’s San Francisco home. With nowhere else to take the impulsive and rambunctious girl, Lilly hauls her daughter to the one place she swore she’d never return–her own mother’s Idaho farm. Matriarch Georgia is not your typical sweet and doting grandmother. She lives her life by a number of unbreakable rules, demanding anyone who shares her home do the same–God comes first and hard work comes a very close second. Now saddled with raising the young woman, it will require each patient breath she takes to understand Rachel’s fury. But as Rachel succumbs to her summer of misery and shakes up the tiny Mormon town, Georgia notices something is changing within her granddaughter. Given structure and responsibilities, Rachel is letting her guard down and learning compassion, especially for her mother. Her journey will lead all three women to revelations of buried family secrets and an understanding that–regardless what happens–the ties that bind can never be broken.
Starring: Jane Fonda, Lindsay Lohan, Felicity Huffman, Dermot Mulroney, Garrett Hedlund
28 Weeks Later- (R) Six months have passed since the rage virus has annihilated the British Isles. The U.S. Army declares that the war against infection has been won, and that the reconstruction of the country can begin. As the first wave of refugees return, a family is reunited–but one of them unwittingly carries a terrible secret. The virus is not yet dead, and this time–showing no outward symptoms–it is more dangerous than ever.
Starring: Jeremy Renner, Harold Perrineau Jr, Robert Carlyle, Rose Byrne, Catherine McCormack
Delta Force- (PG-13) Down on his luck after losing his job and his girlfriend on the same day, Larry decides to join his neighbor, Bill, and his combat-happy buddy, Everett, for a relaxing weekend of drinking and target practice. But when the three hapless guys are mistaken for Army Reservists by the hard-nosed Sergeant Kilgrove, they’re loaded onto an army plane headed for Fallujah, Iraq–and mistakenly ejected in a Humvee somewhere over Mexico. Convinced they’re actually in the Middle East, the clueless wannabe soldiers save a rural village from a siege of bandits and become local heroes. But when Carlos Santana, a ruthless, karaoke-loving warlord, strikes back, Larry, Bill and Everett have to lay down their beers and take up their arms–and prove they just might be real soldiers after all.
Starring: Larry the Cable Guy , Bill Engvall, D.J. Qualls, Keith David, Marisol Nichols
The Ex- (PG-13) Tom Reilly is a bit of an underachiever when it comes to his career (or lack thereof), but his adoring wife Sofia, a formidable lawyer, has always been happy to act as the breadwinner. With the birth of their first child, Sofia decides she wants to be a stay-at-home mom, so Tom needs to step up and take care of his growing family. Unfortunately he gets fired from his job in New York City and is forced to start working with his father-in-law in Sofia’s hometown of Ohio. Tom soon clashes with his work colleagues, especially the outrageous Chip, who still carries a torch for Sofia from their high school days, and Sofia becomes increasingly uncomfortable staying home with their new baby. In doing all the right things for all the wrong reasons, the couple needs to get back to what they’re good at, before their model family goes completely off track.

Jessica Vs. Ashlee: It’s War!

Remember the good old days when Jessica and Ashlee Simpson were best friends? Like the hair colors they’re now sporting and the guys they are seeing, the relationship between the once-close siblings is no longer what it used to be. While their reps insist the sisters are still close, a tsunami seems to be building. “There’s certainly a sibling rivalry between them, a source close to the two tells Star. The trouble began, says another insider when Jess’s boyfriend, John Mayer, pointed to a glamorous magazine photo and asked Jess, “How old is this picture of you? But-whoops!-it was a shot of Ashlee! “Jessica read John the riot act, says our source. “He definitely touched a nerve. Her sensitivity on the subject seems to be the direct result of Ashlee’s emergence as a sex kitten, a role once owned by Jessica. That Ashlee has become the hot blonde – a transformation that came courtesy of a surgeon’s knife, a bottle of peroxide and dramatic weight loss- is troubling to Jessica, who has morphed into a buxom and sometimes frumpy brunette due to a dye job and about 20 extra pounds. “Jessica hears the catty talk about how Ashlee looks like her- from two years ago, says the source. “It totally bothers her.
Nicole Wasting Away Again!

Like always, Nicole Richie made heads turn in Australia during her visit to Sydney’s Taronga Zoo with rocker beau, Joel Madden, on April 30th. But it wasn’t just the starlet’s famous face – it was her bony chest, spindly arms and bony shoulders. Her scary-thin appearance recalls shocking pictures of her on Malibu beach in August 2006. Nicole seemed to be getting healthier showing off a shapelier figure and a fuller, prettier face; sources confirm that she’s heading back to her life-threatening ways! A Richie-clan friend reveals, “Her family’s worried again. Her bones are showing, and she’s really skinny. No one wants to see a repeat of last summer! It may be her new fitness plan, the source says, “She’s working out too much and not eating enough. She’s working out about an hour a day on the stationary bike and elliptical machine, plus she’s lifting weight.
According to an insider, Nicole is desperate to please Joel – and she thinks the way to do it is by competing with his super svelte future sister-in-law. A source tells Star “She’s hoping to get married to Joel. According to West Hollywood-based nutritionist Meredith Holden, Nicole is “transferring addictions (from drug abuse to) avoiding food and trying to control her weight!
Stars Welcome Posh & Becks to Hollywood!

Now that Victoria and David Beckham have signed the papers on their $22 million Beverly Hills “Beckingham Palace, Hollywood A-listers flock like moths to a bonfire. A source tells Star, “Victoria has had calls from Tyra Banks and Demi Moore, as well as Catherine Zeta Jones, who wanted to show support for a fellow Brit. Demi is even vying with Catherine to throw Posh her first “welcome to Lost Angeles Party, says the insider. The star-studded “Team Vick includes Roseanne Barr, novelist Jackie Collins and Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria. Posh may have ulterior motives, she is hoping that Eva can set up a meeting with Desperate Housewives’ producers, which help Posh score a cameo role on the show. The Source adds “Victoria wants to do appearances here and there on some top-rated programs. She’s spoken to Simon Cowell about appearing on American Idol. Posh has already made several goof friends on her frequent visits – Brooke Shields sent her flowers, j-Lo has been taking fashion tips, and Katie Holmes, Vic’s closest friend, and favorite shopping partner. The two were spotted on April 29 at the H. Lorenzo store on Sunset Blvd before heading to Beverly Hills for a tour of Posh’s new pad – right down the street from Tom and Katie.
Jen Aniston & Laura Dern: Payback Time!

New best friends Jennifer Aniston and Laura Dern have plenty to talk about – Angelina Jolie! The leading ladies have each lost a man – Brad Pitt and Billy Bob Thornton – to seductive siren Angie, and a source tells Star they’re now indulging in juicy gossip sessions about her! “They’re looking for a project to do together and discussing scripts but they also love to dish about Angie, says the source. Jennifer and Laura have been hanging out a lot since February when they hooked up with fellow gal-pal Sheryl Crow at Laura’s birthday at Nobu in Malibu. “They talked about how skinny and gaunt Angie looks, and about all the kids she’s adopting and how strange she is. They also say she’s bitchy. Jen told Laura she’ll never forget the time she met Angelina on the Warner Bros. lot, right before Angelina started work on Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and how cold she was to her. The girls have moved on the source reveals, “They say it’s probably good that Angie took their men because of the way they turned out. Jen and Laura are both happy now; the friend reveals, “Laura told Jen that Billy Bob actually did her a favor by leaving her for Angelina. Laura and hubby Ben have two kids Ellery, 5, and Jaya, 2. Jen looks at her ex’s life with his 4 kids and is grateful for her own freedom. Jen’s friends say, “She’s getting her career back on track, and she looks fantastic; the best revenge is that she’s happy.
Kim’s As Nutty As Alec!

The public outcry of Alec Baldwin seems to have forever branded him an aggressive nut job. But here’s a surprise: Ex-wife Kim Basinger is every bit as kooky! While some admit Kim can be sweet and gentle, they also like tack on “…but she’s difficult. Alec’s friend claims, “She’s freaky. She doesn’t talk to the people in her neighborhood. They all think she’s weird! The friend adds, “Kim tries to convince her (Ireland) that they (the clothes Alec buys for her) aren’t nice and that she shouldn’t keep them. Insiders say Kim is even more volatile on the set; while filming the Door in the Floor, “She would knock things down, just so he had to go around picking them up! And there was an assistant Kim wasn’t fond of. The girl ran to get her a Diet Pepsi, but Kim felt the can and said, ‘This is too warm!’ and threw it on the floor! On the set of Cellular in 2004 Kim’s rude behavior spiked. Kim declared that no one was allowed to stare at her. A source tells Star, “There was actually a list of people who could look at her and talk to her. Kim’s rep says none of this is true, the insider says Kim also flirted openly with the film’s happily married director, calling him at home and confronting his wife. The sources say, “It got ugly.
Couples News

On April 28, Jessica was overheard at Hollywood’s chic Parc restaurant telling girlfriends that Justin gave her some killer diamond studs! An eyewitness reveals, “Jessica said they were from Justin – and when she mentioned his name, she smiled and blushed. The earrings stood out because they looked like they were more than two carts each. Later when asked how Justin was doing, Jessica replied, “He’s doing so well, and he’s happy with his tour so far. We’re doing really well. Everything is going great. Are wedding bells in their future?
Kirsten Dunst & Johnny Borrell

Chris Was No Idol!

Rumor has it that booted AI contestant Chris Richardson may soon be dating The Hills hottie Lauren Conrad behind the back of his hometown girlfriend, Gayle Barnett. And that’s a situation Chris is already used to, says a source- who claims Chris and Gayle began romancing while her then husband was fighting in Iraq! “Gayle was still married when she first met Chris in the early summer of 2003, when he was hired as a fry cook at the Hooters in his hometown of Chesapeake, Va., the source tells Star. “They started dating, and they didn’t try to keep it a secret. Gayle was still wearing her wedding ring, and everyone knew she was married, including Chris. Apparently neither of them cared. Local Virginia newspapers recently featured a number of interviews with Gayle, 26, who is always describes as Chris’s “girlfriend of four years. But according to Virginia Beach Circuit Court documents, in her June 2005 divorce filing against her husband, she lists their separation date as September 2004- more than a year after the source says she and Chris began dating!
