Jermaine Dupri celebrated his 36th birthday like a frat boy (with lot’s of money). Jermaine took his longtime girlfriend Janet Jackson (photo right) to club Tenjune in New York last week, sharing two shared bottles of Patron tequila and champagne with party guests like Ice-T, Busta Rhymes, and Ne-Yo. Lots of fun was had by all until Dupri reportedly vomited right in Janet’s lap. Oops!
A source says, “Ms. Jackson bolted out of the scene and sped off in her chauffeured Maybach.”
Dupri’s work life as the head of Island Records’ urban division, has taken recent hits lately as well.
Janet’s latest album “Discipline,” flopped, and an insider says, “[Island/Def Jam head] L.A. Reid had wanted to make changes to the album, make it fresher with some newer artists added in, but Janet said no - and Jermaine backed her up. He looks silly right now.”

Jermaine Dupri had a little too much of a good time celebrating his 36th birthday. The other night, Dupri and his squeeze, Janet Jackson, went to Tenjune, where, spies say, they shared bottles of Jay-Z’s Ace of Spades Champagne and Patrón tequila with Ne-Yo, Busta Rhymes and Ice-T - until Dupri “vomited in Janet’s lap. Ms. Jackson bolted out of the scene and sped off in her chauffeured Maybach.” A rep for Jackson and Dupri didn’t return calls. A rep for Tenjune declined to comment. Meanwhile, we hear Dupri is under some stress at work. The head of urban music for Island/Def Jam put out his lady’s last album, “Discipline,” which flopped. Our insider said, “[IDJ head] L.A. Reid had wanted to make changes to the album, make it fresher with some newer artists added in, but Janet said no - and Jermaine backed her up. He looks silly right now.”
Another Super Bowl, another rock ‘n’ roll superstar at halftime. Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will perform at this year’s Super Bowl halftime show in Tampa, Fla., the NFL and NBC announced Sunday night.
Continuing a run of major talent that has lately included the Rolling Stones, U2, Paul McCartney, Prince and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, the biggest television event in the nation will showcase one of its most beloved rock ‘n’ roll artists. The Super Bowl will be played Feb. 1 at Raymond James Stadium.
Last year’s halftime show was watched by more than 148 million viewers in the U.S., the NFL said in its release. It wasn’t always that way: For years, the game’s halftime show was made up of local and college marching bands and drill teams.
Chubby Checker in 1988 was the first popular musician to perform at halftime, and Michael Jackson upped the ante in 1993. His sister Janet provided the show’s most infamous moment with 2004’s “wardrobe malfunction” - and the show has stuck with straight ahead rock acts ever since.
Janet Jackson might feel “allergic to marriage,” but the pop star is ready to have a baby, says longtime boyfriend Jermaine Dupri.
“Yeah, soon,” Dupri told PEOPLE Sunday at a dinner party hosted by New Era and Belvedere Vodka at West Hollywood’s STK restaurant. “Right after the tour.” (Jackson, 42, recently announced she’ll be on the road this fall.)
The producer – who has a daughter, Shaniah, from a previous relationship – is so excited to start a family with Jackson, he doesn’t even care if it’s a boy or a girl.
“It really doesn’t matter,” he explained at the even honoring rapper Nelly. “Janet would be a great mom. She was around so many brothers and sisters all her life, so she’s got to know what that is [like]. And her mom is a great mother.”
According to Dupri, Jackson is also a great companion. “The greatest thing in life is just to have a friend,” he said. “When I have problems in life, I share them with her. When she has a problem, she comes to me.”
Singer Janet Jackson and longtime boyfriend Jermaine Dupri, are planning to start a family soon. Janet admitted earlier this year she’s desperate for children, but isn’t convinced she is mature enough to raise a child.
But her producer boyfriend, Dupri disagrees, insisting the pair are both ready to start a family as soon as Jackson returns from her upcoming U.S. tour.
Dupri - already father to daughter Shaniah from a previous relationship - is anxious to expand his family, he admits he’s not concerned whether the couple’s new addition is a boy or a girl: “It really doesn’t matter. Janet would be a great mum. She was around so many brothers and sisters all her life, so she’s got to know what that is (like). And her mum is a great mother.”
Jackson, 42, is set to kick off her Rock Witchu North American tour - the first tour for the singer in seven years - this September.
Janet Jackson is getting into the reality TV business, developing a music competition with 25/7 Prods. for MTV.
Untitled project, which has already started casting, will feature Jackson as she mentors a group of aspiring singers and dancers. Project will be shot in the coming months as Jackson prepares for her world tour, which launches on Sept. 10.
“It’s really about finding who’s the next Janet Jackson or Justin Timberlake or Usher,” said exec producer Dave Broome. “And we’ll find it from a pool of people who you wouldn’t typically find it from. We’ll go to YMCAs, church groups, local community centers and try to cast the show.”
Show will also take place in various street locales, rather than on a studio soundstage. Producers are still ironing out the prize - but it could potentially relate to Jackson’s tour.
Deal also reps the latest chapter in the recent turbulent relationship between the channel and Jackson. MTV produced the infamous Super Bowl halftime show that featured Jackson’s “wardrobe malfunction.” After that, fans accused MTV of blackballing the singer from the channel.
But Jackson has been seen more often on MTV lately, having appeared on TRL to promote her latest CD in February. She also starred in a series of shorts spoofing MTV series like “The Real World” as part of MTV’s “52 Artists/52 Weeks Total MTV Takeover.”
Broome’s credits include “The Biggest Loser,” “The Radio Music Awards” and NBC’s Tsunami benefit.
Gil Duldulao and Jackson are behind the show’s concept; Jackson, Duldulao, Broome, Kenneth Crear and Johnny Wright are all exec producers.
Handsome English actor Ben Barnes, who plays Prince Caspian in “The Chronicle of Narnia”, just landed a new juicy role.
He’s been cast to play Oscar Wilde’s iconic character Dorian Gray in a new adaptation of the author’s novel, The Picture of Dorian Gray. It’s a nice opportunity to transition into adult roles!
While her little sister’s wedding plans remain shrouded in secrecy, Jessica Simpson revealed one detail: She’s the maid of honor!
“Of course,” the 27-year-old told PEOPLE when asked if she’ll be standing next to Ashlee on her big day.
Performing in front of nearly 35,000 people at Camp Pendleton Thursday night, Jessica was in fine form for the troops, belting out “These Boots Are Made For Walkin’ ” at a three-hour concert that also featured Snoop Dogg, Janet Jackson, Ne-Yo, and Pamela Anderson. Taking the stage in a skin-tight red top, jeans and black stiletto heels, Jessica was greeted by howls and hoorahs.
Little sister Ashlee, 23, and fiancé Pete Wentz (of Fall Out Boy fame) have kept mum on their wedding plans – and her pregnancy.
But she can’t help gushing about her engagement.
While promoting her new album, Bittersweet World, in London, Ashlee proudly showed off her ring on a British chat show saying, “He did a great job.” As for her husband-to-be? “I got a good one.”

I wonder if she has one of those nipple rings like Janet Jackson. I bet she does. I’ve seen the way she handles pork tendorloins. Some chicks you can just tell they have a dirty side.
According to a new report in the New York Post, plagued by decades of bad fiscal decisions, the once-mighty Jackson family is barely scraping by. Janet is the only Jackson family member that’s really doing well on her own as a performer.

The band of brothers sold more than 100 million albums, second only to the Beatles, while pioneering a multimedia empire that spanned radio, TV, cartoons and magazines. Here’s what they’re up to now: Joseph Jackson, 79 and Katherine Jackson, 77

Janet Jackson may be waylaid while recovering from the flu, but the show will go on – with Mariah Carrey.
Carey, 37, will replace Jackson on Saturday Night Live this weekend after Jackson, 41, fell ill Monday night. “They wanted her for 10 years,” says a rep for Carey. “It’s going to be hot!”
The Grammy-winning songbird will join host Jonah Hill for her first appearance on the show in more than a decade. Carey will perform tracks from her upcoming album E=MC2, which will be released April 15.
An untimely illness has forced Janet Jackson to bail out from appearing on this weekend’s Saturday Night Live. Shortness of breath caused Jackson’s people to take her to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles Monday night due to a case of the flu. She is said to be doing better but not ready to fly to NY. So SNL lost one diva but quickly found another in the one and only Mariah Carey to take her place! Mimi to the rescue and she’s going through her 10-room closet right now picking out an outfit! She hasn’t been on the show for 10 years, but the timing is perfect with her upcoming album to promote (E=MC2 comes out on April 15).

JANET JACKSON is under immense pressure from her mother to get married and start a family with boyfriend JERMAINE DUPRI, because she wants to be a grandma again. The 41-year-old recently confessed her doctor is encouraging her to freeze her eggs to protect her chances of getting pregnant - and she reveals her mother is urging her to listen to her biological clock too. Jackson says. “My mother and I have had a couple of conversations. “She says, ‘You’re getting older now. Do you think you might want to have a couple of children instead of just your dogs.’ “I’ll have kids someday. It’ll happen. I’m still young.”

Hoping perhaps that 3’s the charm, Janet Jackson is rumored to be taking the marriage plunge again with rapper Jermaine Dupri. She reportedly has been requesting designers for bridal gown samples.
JANET Jackson is taking the marriage plunge again. Although the pop star has remained mum on her engagement to rapper Jermaine Dupri, she recently hit up designers like Badgley Mischka, asking for bridal gown samples. “She’s preparing for her private nuptials,” said one source. Good luck, Janet! Just last week, she confessed to Parade magazine, “After two divorces, I thought I was jinxed. Maybe marriage isn’t for me? Maybe it’s my fault it never works.”
The pop star, who turns 42 in May, tells Britain’s Observer: “I get so much pressure from people I don’t even know, and I think: ‘My God, am I missing my moment?’ Even my mother mentioned something to me the other day. But now you can have your eggs frozen and there are all sorts of things you can do. I’ve still got time.” But, adds Jackson - who’s hot and heavy with producer Jermaine Dupri, although she denies reports they’ve wed - “I’ve got to get a little more kid out of me first before I move on and be childish with my child.”

PRINCE demands royal treatment even at a friend’s birthday bash. The diminutive funkster refused to go into his old pal Benny Medina’s 50th-birthday party at Medina’s Hollywood home last weekend until the host walked him in personally. Prince had to wait for a few minutes while Medina, a creator of “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” was dragged off the dance floor, where he was boogieing with Mariah Carey, Jermaine Dupri, Janet Jackson and LA Reid. Later, in front of Ashley Olsen, Sanaa Lathan, Lionel Richie and Denzel Washington, Prince was given a $375,000, 5.04-carat vivid canary diamond ring by jeweler Pascal Mouawad.
