Katie Holmes dragged husband Tom Cruise, who is dressing more and more like John McCain on casual Fridays, to the premiere of Tropic Thunder (starring Ben Stiller, Jack Black and Robert Downey, Jr.) at Mann’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood on Monday night.
Cruise has a cameo in Tropic Thunder as Les Grossman. Other stars making cameos in the film include Matthew McConaughey, Mickey Rooney, Kathy Hilton, Tobey Maguire, Amy Stiller, Lance Bass, Tyra Banks, Jason Bateman, Jon Voight, Alicia Silverstone and Jennifer Love Hewitt.
Many, including Bump, have given Katie Holmes a hard time during the past week for her ‘Pixie haircut’, rough appearance and clothing selection while in New York rehearsing for her play, but Katie looked extremely elegant and beautiful on Monday night.
The movie hits theaters Wednesday August 13th nationwide.

As Katie Holmes prepares to make her Broadway debut in Arthur Miller’s 1940s award-winner ‘All My Sons’ this fall, word is that Tom Cruise and Suri of course will be moving to the Big Apple together! This doesn’t surprise Hot Momma at all, inspite of all the silly rumors alleging that this was an attempt by Katie to escape Tom, nothing is apparently further from the truth.
Katie and Tom are committed to keeping the family together, so they are searching for an apartment [in New York],” All My Sons producer Eric Falkenstein tells the New York Post.
Some critics gasped when Holmes was cast, but Falkenstein says she is “perfect” for the part of Ann, a woman who visits the family of her former lover, a missing pilot. Falkenstein continued:
“When she signed on, she came here to a bare rehearsal room for a read- through. She didn’t ask for anything. She was just sweet and deferential. At the first table-read, Holmes “took notes… asked questions… [she] loves being around theater people. Katie’s not a celebrity type. “She’s done brilliant work in films like Pieces of April and The Ice Storm.
Holmes debuts in mid-October for a limited 16-week engagement. She will share the stage six days a week with All My Sons” cast-mates John Lithgow, Dianne Wiest, and Patrick Wilson.

Forget what you may have read in the past 18 months about the thousands of dollars Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes spent on their baby, Suri, at luxury baby boutique Petit Tresor.
Just pretend you didn’t read about the $45,000 eggshell-blue-themed baby room with a custom-made antique crib and blue walls with floating clouds. Or the spring dresses and T-shirt sets that read “Big Sister.”
That’s because you weren’t supposed to learn the details of their shopping habits, and Cruise and Holmes are taking steps to make sure of that.
After one of Cruise’s entertainment lawyers sent a tough letter to the Los Angeles store, accusing it of leaking confidential and false information that the couple had spent $350,000-400,000 at the store on their daughter, store owner Samantha Winch reached out and made peace.
“We didn’t leak any information,” Winch told ABCNEWS.com. “We don’t leak. It’s our policy not to discuss our celebrity clientele.”
Winch said that she has conducted an “internal investigation” of her staff and is convinced that none of the staffers at her stores leaked the information. The store’s other celebrity clients include Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez and Christina Aguilera.
So, where did the information come from? “One of the shops is on Robertson Boulevard, and there are paparazzi up and down the street all the time,” she said.
As for the amount spent at the store, Winch said that Cruise and Holmes have spent significantly less than the reported amount.
Cruise lawyer Aaron J. Moss said he takes Winch at her word.
“We have been contacted by the store, which has assured us that they will not mention them in the future.”
As for Winch’s claims that none of her employees have leaked information, Moss said that Life & Style magazine printed an on-the-record comment from one of the store’s representatives.
At this point, there is no indication of a lawsuit and “we think it’s been resolved,” Moss said.
While it is common for celebrities to request confidentiality when it comes to their private lives, breaches of privacy do not usually end up in court unless they involve medical records or intimate family secrets.
UCLA Medical Center fired 13 workers and disciplined another 12 for improperly obtaining the Spears’ records when she stayed at the hospital’s neuropsychiatric unit last year. One rogue employee snuck a look at the confidential files of 32 celebrities and high-profile patients in 2006 and 2007.
In 2006, Lopez sued ex-husband Ojani Noa for violating a confidentiality agreement by publishing a book with private details about their relationship. Previously, Noa had sued the singer, claiming that she had fired him as manager of her restaurant without cause.
And Rob Lowe and his wife recently sued two former nannies and an ex-chef, claiming they violated confidentially agreements by divulging personal information about the couple. One of the nannies countersued, claiming that she was sexually harassed, which the Lowes denied.

Katie Holmes is developing a major attitude towards her hired help. Katie has reportedly been bullying her household help, with sources blaming her life with Tom for having changed her from a sweet little tramp thing into a snotty nosed bitch toff.

This is kind of old news as we reported here last week, but now the ink has dried now and Katie Holmes is officially heading for Broadway.
Katie has made some interesting career choices over the last few years. Holmes co-starred with Christian Bale in the 2005 blockbuster “Batman Begins,” but will not join Bale to reprise the role in this summer’s “The Dark Knight.” This is because she choose to star in this year’s “Mad Money” alongside Diane Keaton and Queen Latifah. Now looking to bounce back from this box-office flop Katie will hit the stage in a revival directed by Simon McBurney, of Arthur Miller’s “All My Sons” this fall.
The Dawson Creek star joins fellow castmates John Lithgow, Dianne Wiest and Patrick Wilson.
The play, first seen on Broadway in 1947, was Miller’s first Broadway hit. It concerns businessman Joe Keller (Lithgow) whose factory supplied defective cylinder parts to the military, resulting in the deaths of 21 pilots during World War II. Yet it was his business partner who went to jail for the mistake.
Wiest will play Keller’s wife; Wilson, his idealistic son; and Holmes, the son’s fiancee and daughter of Keller’s disgraced partner.

And while the night’s theme celebrated cat suits and unitards, the red carpet featured far more glamorous getups: Co-hosts Julia Roberts and George Clooney strolled in together wearing Giorgio Armani.
“I wore the dress because he made it for me,” said Roberts, who gave the designer, who sponsored the evening with Vogue magazine, a hug.
Armani outfitted power couples Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise and David and Victoria Beckham. New parents Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony were also on the scene.

Team Cruise and Team Beckham reunited on the red carpet last night at the social event of the season, the annual Metropolitan Museum’s Costume Institute Gala, which drew a who’s who roll call of international stars.
The quartet put aside rumours of a rift as they posed up together at the glamorous event, but in typical fashion, Posh did her best to steal the spotlight in a see-through white Armani dressing coat.
But with her usual bob swept up into a carefully set chignon and heavily painted face, Victoria’s attempt at Old Hollywood glamour was rather too literal, leaving her looking well beyond her 34 years.
And pout-prone Posh appeared more glum than ever - perhaps it was the pressure of competing with a host of Hollywood actress and supermodels that prompted her look of disdain.
Katie Holmes, who also wore Armani, didn’t fare much better in the style stakes, leaving onlookers shocked and awed at her bright orange dress and cobalt blue stiletto combination.
The extravaganza, billed as Manhattan’s rival to the Oscars, marked the opening the museum’s Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy exhibition, a theme that delighted the ever-excitable Mr. Cruise.
“I’ve always just loved comic books,” he said as he arrived. “I dig those characters.”

For Victoria Beckham’s 34th birthday, Tom Cruise surprised her and husband David Beckham by flying the couple aboard his private jet to Napa Valley for a wine tasting vacation. The Daily Mirror says:
Tom offered [David] his private jet and recommended a trip to a friend’s vineyard in Napa Valley, California. But when the Beckhams got to LAX airport, it turned into a surprise party. Tom and wife Katie Holmes were waiting on board. And so were new LA pals Heidi Klum, Seal, Kate Beckinsale and Len Wiseman. The A-listers set a course for the Napa Valley for a tour of the vineyards then had dinner cooked by the private chef.
A friend of the Beckhams told me: “They were expecting a quiet trip for two, but Tom secretly laid on the trip for Victoria’s birthday last weekend and David’s on Friday. They waited in the jet with cake!” (Source)

In part 1 of his 2 part interview with Oprah Winfrey, Tom Cruise is asked a lot of questions regarding things that have dogged him in his recent past. And actually he gives a reasonably normal and rational interview. Cruise’s interview with Oprah Winfrey Friday was sparked by the 25th anniversary of the release of “Ricky Business,” but was more about fixing his ailing public image.
The two (Cruise and Winfrey) hadn’t been together since the famous couch jumping interview and Oprah admitted to being a little nervous going into revisiting with Tom. UsWeekly provided some quotes from the interview. So asked about the couch incident, Tom calmly explains that he jumped on Oprah’s couch because he was just “so in love? with Katie Holmes, and he didn’t know how else to express it.
Cruise tells Winfrey, “I just felt that way, and I feel that way about her. I can’t even articulate it, to be honest,? he adds. “That feeling, that connection. Just who she is and what she means to me.?
Of the negative response to his couch jumping, Cruise says, “It just kind of kept going. Those things I kind of go, ‘You just have to take in stride.’ It just kind of became a confluence of things.?
Well at least he seems to at least be able to understand that the results weren’t a great thing for his career.
Next Tom’s asked about freaking out on Matt Lauer, when discussing psychiatry and the use of anti-depressant drugs and Brooke Shields, a few weeks following the Oprah couch jumping. Tom says that he regretted criticizing Brooke Shields, who admitted to taking Paxil for post-partum depression. He says he regrets mentioning her in any way but is glad it helped bring them together now as friends.
“I was feeling pressed in the interview with Matt Lauer,? Cruise says. “For me, my issue was really about child drugging. It’s not like it is today, like people are really kind of openly talking about this.?
(Cruise now says of medicating children, “I think the parent should be able to and should make that decision.?)
Winfrey next questions whether Cruise feels people negatively target him because of his Scientology involvement:
“It’s a minority religion, and I think that sometimes people misinterpret [it],” he says. “I think the best thing is for people to read about it themselves. I believe people have the right to choose what they believe in.
“The code of Scientologists says you respect the religious beliefs of others,” Cruise adds. “That’s part of being a Scientologist, and that’s who I am as a person.”
In January, videos leaked online of Cruise at Scientology events discussing the religion. He says of the video footage leaking online in January:
“It was stolen. I was receiving an award that evening for global literacy. It was a very private moment. I’m actually talking to my congregation. It’s [taken] totally out of context,” he adds.

Tom Cruise’s two-part interview on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” includes a snowmobile ride and a frank discussion of his rocky media image, followed by an in-studio celebration of “Risky Business” 25 years ago, a person close to the production told The Associated Press Wednesday.
Cruise talks candidly with Winfrey about his personal life, said the person, who was not authorized to speak publicly about the show and requested anonymity. He discusses his childhood, life with wife Katie Holmes and their daughter Suri, Scientology and a 2005 appearance on “The Today Show” in which he criticized psychiatry and the use of anti-depressant drugs.
Cruise and Winfrey are longtime friends, but they have not seen each other since his infamous couch-jumping incident on her show three years ago, the person said. The actor is currently in talks to star in the fourth “Mission: Impossible” film.
For Friday’s show, Winfrey interviewed the 45-year-old actor at his home in Telluride, Colo., where he shares personal photos and anecdotes with the talk-show queen. Monday’s episode was taped in front of a studio audience and includes appearances by several celebrities who congratulate Cruise on a career that took off when he danced in his underwear in 1983’s “Risky Business.”
“In his 25 years in the business, Tom Cruise has become the epitome of a true Hollywood star,” Warner Home Video senior vice president and general manager Jeff Baker said in a statement Wednesday. “We are very proud of this timeless classic and the film that became his breakthrough role.”
The company plans to release a commemorative DVD of the film, a representative said.
Cruise can next be seen on the big screen in “Tropic Thunder,” set for release in August.

Sean P Diddy Weasel Combs is splashing out a lazy $4m on a party this Friday night to celebrate getting his name on the Hollywood Wank of Fame.
Weasel has 10 private jets on standby to fly in his pals to his $20 million mansion in Beverly Hills.
Guests will be treated to $400,000 worth of luxury French Ciroc vodka, champagne to be flown in from New York (why not France?) and 300 white lily arrangements. Guests also get to take home a $400 doggy bag, which includes Estee Lauder Unforgivable Black perfume.

Star Magazine claims Katie Holmes recently spent 3 days at Gold Base, the Scientology compound in Hemet, CA for being a misbehaving wife. Tom supposedly banished Katie to the compound, because she wanted to go to NYC by herself and star on Broadway. After two failed marriages Cruise went to a lot of trouble to find the perfect Scientology wife, and he’s not about to let her start thinking for herself now, the story basically goes! The source said the boot camp puts the camper through a battery of tests and purification:
“various tests, confession sessions, tons of reading and physically challenging purification processes. Tom insists that auditing and purification practices are incredibly beneficial to Scientologists at all levels.”
One of the auditing sessions reportedly lasts 36 hours with little sleep and food. I kind of find it hard to believe Katie would put up with going to boot camp but these stories are more entertaining and imaginative then an L. Ron Hubbard book.

Cher has spoken frankly about how she was once “crazy” for Tom Cruise.
The singer had a brief relationship with the actor, 16 years her junior, at the start of his career.
Only now, as she publicises an upcoming run of shows in Las Vegas, has her version of events emerged.
Reflecting on their affair, she said it could have been a “great big romance” if they hadn’t been forced apart by their filming schedules.
They are thought to have met at a White House fund-raising event in the mid- eighties when he was basking in the success of his hit film Risky Business.
Cher, 39 at the time, is said to have been smitten almost immediately with the 23-year-old.
While Cruise’s career was very much in its ascendancy, she had by that time been a star for almost two decades.
Cher, 61, told Oprah Winfrey: “I was crazy about him.”
In the show, to be seen on U.S. television next month, she spoke of Cruise, now 45, as an awkward young man who was struggling to adjust to his new life.
“He was shy,” she said. “He said he felt like such a boob in school and nobody talked to him. We went on a date once for dinner in a New York restaurant and the waitress was from his old school.
“He told me she never talked to him back in school, but now he was recognised he got all her attention.
“It could have been a great big romance because I was crazy for him.”
As she recounted her time with the actor, the audience burst into a frenzy of cheering and whooping, especially when she spoke of one particularly “long night” in his arms.
The couple are thought to have dated for several months.
Their affair is understood to have ended when Cruise met Mimi Rogers, six years his senior, who was to become his first wife. He separated from Miss Rogers after three years in 1990.
He went on to marry Australian actress Nicole Kidman the same year and remained with her for 11 years until 2001.
He married third wife Katie Holmes in 2006. The couple have a two year-old daughter, Suri.
Cher has been married twice. Her marriage to Sonny Bono ended after 11 years while her second to rock star Gregg Allman lasted a mere nine days.
She told Oprah Winfrey she was currently single. She broke up with her last serious boyfriend, actor Rob Camilletti, nearly 15 years ago.
“Dating is a strange thing,” she declared. “It’s not every man who can be comfortable with me. Being Cher is a hard thing and difficult for him to hold his place.”

Tom Cruise during his last appearance
Tom Cruise is returning to the Oprah Winfrey Show. Of course the actor made headlines back in 2005 when he jumped up and down on Oprah’s couch while pronouncing his love for Katie Holmes. Cruise’s rep told People magazine:
“Tom will be doing the Oprah show. He is really looking forward to it.?
The show, which will appear in two parts during May sweeps, will celebrate Cruise’s career since his breakout role 25 years ago in Risky Business. One part will be shot in-studio before a live audience. In the other, Cruise will show Winfrey around his Telluride mountain retreat and do a portion of the interview at the home. (Source)
How can Tom possibly follow up his couch-jumping performance? He can’t do a normal interview — he has a reputation to uphold. Viewers are gonna be expecting craziness. I’m thinking something along the lines of doing the entire interview in ancient tongue. Tommy Cruise is returning to the Oprah Winfrey show. Cruise has not been a guest on Oprah since that last appearance, almost three years ago, on June 23, 2005. If you recall, he was on the show to promote his film, War of the Worlds, but went couch crazy instead, over-acting even more then usual in declaring his love for Katie Holmes.
MSNBC’s The Scoop reports that the show will most likely air during May sweeps. The focus of the show might be the 25th Anniversary of “Risky Business??” Sources claim that other celebrities have been invited to the taping and it will be an “A-list affair.” Could Katie and baby Suri make an appearance as well?

How do you celebrate the second birthday of one of the most famous toddlers around? In a low-key way, if you’re part of the Cruise-Holmes family.
Suri Cruise turned 2 on April 18, and parents Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes decided not to have an over-the-top soiree, but a small gathering just for family instead. The party, held in L.A., featured a big coloring area and “everyone at the party wrote birthday wishes and colored on a big card that Suri will have forever,? according to an insider.
Practically every family member made the trip to the West Coast to help celebrate. Specifically, Holmes’ siblings and her parents were on hand, and on the Cruise side of the family, Tom’s kids Bella and Connor. His sisters and parents were there, too.
A cake decorated with butterflies was the desert of choice for blowing out the candles. But that’s not it — the family hit the lanes for a bowling after party once the initial celebrating ended.
